Riot FAQ · 2026-08-14
If Icathian Rain chooses a unit at Heisho, Shell of the World once and Irelia, Fervent in base five times, do you pay for Deflect?
No.
Explanation & source
While a spell or ability chooses a unit at Heisho, you ignore all Deflect when paying for it. This applies only to that spell or ability.

How do Falling Star and Icathian Rain choose their targets?
You choose all targets as you play the spell, and players can react before any of it resolves. You can choose the same unit or different units for each instance.
Explanation & source
Riot issued errata reversing the Origins FAQ reflexive-trigger ruling. Deflect is now paid once for each time a target is chosen.
