How does Moonfall work with an empowered Mel?

The chosen enemy unit gets −3 Might. The other enemy units at that battlefield get −2 Might. Mel modifies only the reduction applied to the unit Moonfall chooses.

How does Stupefy work with an empowered Mel, Newly Awakened?

The chosen unit gets -2 Might, to a minimum of 1 Might. A 2 Might unit becomes 1 Might. Mel replaces Stupefy’s -1 Might with -2 Might, and the replacement inherits Stupefy’s “to a minimum of 1” modification.

About Stupefy and Mel, Newly Awakened · Vendetta Rules FAQ and Clarifications ↗

Can an opponent play Abandon on your spell while you control an empowered Mel, Newly Awakened?

Yes. On resolution they Predict, but nothing else happens. Your spell can’t be countered, so Abandon’s counter fails and there is no trash event for its return-to-hand replacement to replace. If the spell resolves later, it goes to the trash as normal.

About Abandon and Mel, Newly Awakened · Vendetta Rules FAQ and Clarifications ↗

Does an empowered Mel, Newly Awakened stop Rebuttal from taking control of your spell?

No. Gaining control of a spell is not countering it. If the Rebuttal player pays one power of any domain on resolution, they gain control of your spell; if they don’t pay, your spell is not countered. Effects that stop spells from being countered don’t stop their controller from changing.

About Rebuttal and Mel, Newly Awakened · Vendetta Rules FAQ and Clarifications ↗

What new choices can you make when you play Rebuttal and pay one power of any domain?

You can make new choices for any number of the spell’s targets or modes. The rest stay the same. Choices you don’t remake must be legal; you can’t leave only some of them legal. Rules about the spell’s choices still apply after control changes, such as a spell played from face down having to target objects at its battlefield.

About Rebuttal · Vendetta Rules FAQ and Clarifications ↗

If you take control of an opponent’s Stupefy with Rebuttal and it resolves, what counts as your spell?

Ravenbloom Student triggers twice, Battering Ram costs 4 Energy, and your opponent’s Legion abilities are active. Ravenbloom Student checks for your spells resolving. Battering Ram and Legion check which cards were finalized, and your opponent finalized Stupefy before you took it.
