Riot FAQ · 2026-08-14
If Temporal Breach plays Elder Dragon from base and you pay Dragon Roost’s additional cost, where does it go?
You choose which of the two locations to play it to.
Explanation & source
When mandatory location requirements contradict, the player chooses one and ignores the rest. Restrictions (“can’t”) work differently.

If Hextech Ray kills while Imperial Decree’s delayed trigger is active, can Immortal Phoenix return from your trash?
Yes.
Explanation & source
Imperial Decree’s delayed trigger is generated by your spell and is attributed the kill, so all of Immortal Phoenix’s conditions are met.

If you play Counter Strike in response to Elder Dragon’s play effect, does the chosen unit die?
No.
Explanation & source
Elder Dragon changes what counts as lethal damage, not how much is dealt. Fully prevented damage is never dealt, so Elder Dragon has nothing to apply to.

If Elder Dragon targets your units at two battlefields and you Flash them to base, are they dealt damage?
No.
Explanation & source
Elder Dragon has a separate targeting restriction for each location. Units moved elsewhere no longer meet theirs and are unaffected.
